"A few years back, my hunting partner and I had the pleasure of watching several bulls in the rut. A couple of younger bulls were trying to get at the mature bulls harem, while at the same time the mature bull was in the process of trying to bluff another big bull. After much parading, the mature bull waved circle and chased the younger bulls off. Then he would charge back and start this duel with the other big bull again. Neither bull ready to fight, just trying to bluff each other with their size. Soon it became too dark to see, so we left wondering if they ever settled who was boss.

"This is where I came up with the idea for 'Dueling Sixguns' which I painted along with the scenery from one of my favorite places. It's a scene that I play out in my mind many times."
