The Mule Deer is among the most graceful and attractive animals in the world. It is also one of John's favorites. He has observed them for years. Although it is rare to see a trophy size buck, John has found many signs that they are still out there. This watercolor of a wise old buck laying almost invisible, "camouflaged" under the cedar, is how you might find him somewhere on the Piceance Creek Basin, in northwestern Colorado. |
